Abundance, biomass and diversity of soil macrofauna in savanna woodland and associated managed habitats

摘要: Soil macrofauna were sampled from natural savanna woodland (miombo) and four managed habitat types: a maize field, fallow, disturbed miombo beneath mature Eucalyptus grandis. Millipedes beetle larvae had the largest biomass most abundant within woodland. Canopy structure significantly influenced overall population density of soil fauna with litter dwelling groups affected by spatial heterogeneity. (…)
