摘要: A spontaneous polyuria, polydipsia, and mild obesity was discovered in 1984 an outbred colony of Long Evans (LE) rats, that had been purchased from Charles River Canada (St. Constant, Quebec, Canada) 1982. strain rats developed by selective breeding this rat designated OLETF (Otsuka Long-Evans Tokushima Fatty). The line has maintained since then brother-sister mating at the Research Institute, Otsuka Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd.1,2 From same LE stock, a developing insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus (IDDM) isolated (LETL)3–4 control line, LETO, also established.
