摘要: Abstract Concentrations and fluxes of particulate, dissolved gaseous forms hydrologic carbon were measured in two contrasting acidic upland streams NE Scotland Mid-Wales. Sampling was undertaken at the outlet each catchment, on a weekly or biweekly basis over 2 years. In addition, spatial variations concentrations total organic (TOC), inorganic (DIC), free CO2 CH4 are presented for both along 14 contiguous sites between source catchment. determinants stream reflected increasing inputs TOC from soil-pore water emanating deep peat areas; these subsequently decreased downstream due to changing soil characteristics in-stream processes. The annual flux 191 kg C ha−1 yr−1 site compared 121 kg Mid-Wales stream, mainly significantly higher (DOC) (p
