摘要: We have taxonomically and phylogenetically characterized a novel nitrogen-fixing bacterial strain, NH-1, which was recently isolated from surface sediments of the South China Sea. The presence nifH gene deter- mined by PCR amplification. strain NH-1 found to belong genus Pseudacidovorax based on phenotypic characterization, 16S rDNA sequencing, G?C content DNA-DNA hybridization. Isolate identified as intermedius. In addition, we investigated links between environmental factors nitrogenase activity NH-1. that nitrogen fixation capacity varied strongly when cells were grown with different ammonium ion oxygen concentrations, amino acids carbohydrates. This is first report isolation ocean study explore effects culture conditions activities isolate. provides evidence marine microorganisms are far more diverse than currently recognized.
