摘要: This study examines the axial load capacity of circular Concrete Filled Steel Tube columns using High Strength (CFST-HSC). Emphasis is drawn to the enhanced short columns attributed lateral confinement the concrete infill provided by steel encasement. The degree has been found be dependent on several geometric and mechanical parameters. At present, significant discrepancies exist with respect quantifying effective strength confined concrete. Existing design models codes are predominantly derived from the characteristics normal concrete therefore may inappropriate filled utilising (HSC). An extensive experimental program was initiated examine of CFST-HSC columns. results 62 concentrically loaded scale model filled with (46-100 MPa) presented. principal experimental parameters were strengths, tube diameter wall thickness ratio, column slenderness ratio. tested classified as thin walled sections isolated elements under term loading. The results compared predictions existing procedures and recommendations proposed.
