摘要: Abstract This study investigated the in vitro (40 MHz) and vivo (30 feasibility of intravascular ultrasound to document influence athero-sclerotic lesions on typical 3-layered appearance muscular arteries. The images 39 arteries were compared with corresponding histologic sections. Media lesion thickness measured at areas minimal maximal thickness. median media was 0.8 mm absence a lesion, decreasing 0.3 area atherosclerosis. ultrasonic data correlated closely measurements (0.6 mm, respectively). performed 29 patients undergoing coronary or peripheral vascular procedures. A total 150 still-frames selected for quantitative analysis. 0.6 0.1 revealed that imaging accurately determines is inversely related In data, verified histology, can be translated humans vivo.
