摘要: We have constructed a magnetic polarity time scale for the Late Cretaceous and Cenozoic based on an analysis of marine profiles from world's ocean basins. This is first time, since Heirtzler et al. (1968) published their scale, that relative widths intervals entire been systematically determined profiles. A composite geomagnetic sequence was derived primarily data South Atlantic. Anomaly spacings in Atlantic were constrained by combination finite rotation poles averages stacked Fine-scale information faster spreading ridges Pacific Indian Oceans inserted into Ariantic sequence. Based assumption rates smoothly varying but not necessarily constant, generated using spline function to fit set nine age calibration points
