摘要: Once a harsh land with limited resources, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has undergone considerable change over 50 years after discovery of vast natural gas and petroleum reserves. In addition to significant economic societal changes, remarkable improvements have been made in provision health care services, including expanded infrastructure, human resource development, decreased infectious disease morbidity mortality. Emergency medicine (EM) emergency medical services (EMS) within country are currently limited, UAE best described as being "developing" phase EM. Within capital city, Abu Dhabi, Ministry Health, Civil Defense, police provide majority EMS services. At present time, there no uniform control or treatment protocols, communications systems, systems management, training education, quality assurance policies. However, recent advancements care, developing practice interest EM, may lead improved prehospital care.
