摘要: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the use mineralized freeze-dried bone allograft (FDBA) in conjunction with a titanium-reinforced expanded polytetrafluoroethylene (TR e-PTFE) barrier treatment localized alveolar ridge deficiencies prior endosseous dental implant placement. Twelve patients (aged 23 65 years) requiring tooth replacement augmentation were recruited participate study. During surgery, measurements made grafting FDBA plus TR e-PTFE barrier. Six months later, repeated, and suitability for placement assessed. At each site, biopsy taken from grafted site. implants placed allowed osseointegrate 13 weeks phase-two surgery. Clinical data analyzed horizontal width changes vertical height changes. Histologic evaluation revealed formation new residual particles graft site at time Ten completed mean increased by 3.2 +/- 1.0 mm (P < .0005). Histomorphometric analysis range 42.9% 70.5%, 47.6%. Graft remaining ranged 29.5% 57.1%, 52.4%. clinical histologic findings demonstrate that sites an can provide predictable way augment deficient ridges
