摘要: The usual inversion procedures for determining the oceanic circulation take density field as given. This does not explicitly account mismatch between data, which are typically a single realization of field, and being estimated, may be time mean or some other smoothed quantity, but explicit consideration uncertainty data renders problem nonlinear, new estimation methods have to used. As an example, nonlinear is successfully applied here simple analytical model Stommel Veronis (1981). It also shown that their linear procedure, if properly used, yields much better result than they obtained.
