摘要: In this study several asphalt mixtures were produced using four different aggregate sources, contents, and gradations. Every mixture was compacted the Superpave gyratory compactor (SGC). To evaluate if densification results from SGC can be related to rutting of mixtures, new axial compression test procedure for measurements recommended by National Cooperative Highway Research Program project 9-19 used in AASHTO 2002 pavement design manual, also evaluating behavior laboratory samples. Densification curves determine volumetric properties mix as well calculation construction traffic indices. The index (CDI), which is value area under curve density at 8 gyrations 92% Gmm, represents work done during period achieve 8% air voids. (TDI), 98% density, needed resist loading service life. Two more indices are calculated, force (CFI) (TFI). CFI amount raise 92%. TFI increase 98%. tests estimate rate flow number (FN), point starts exhibit tertiary flow. FN, considered an important property, shown have a strong correlation TDI derived measured SGC. main finding that appears give information characterize stability mixtures. Such could initial screening criterion select various ESAL (equivalent single axle load) levels, addition indicating expected performance level.
