摘要: ABSTRACT Some slope failures along oblique faults experience arch to the extent that stable scarp can be observed after collapse. The load resisting is transferred side supports by circumferential forces across exposed face, separating it from force acting normal and frictional resistance which runs it. Therefore, failure mechanism involves a passive condition where major principal stresses dominate supporting arches. This study presents groundwork carried out confirm assumption of appearing in inclined measuring pressure changes surface movement physical model. Moist sand was uniformly layered inside rigid acrylic frame fixed on base made plates. distributions slopes were recorded analyzed using particle image velocimetry (PIV) processing software. As toe sliced cut sequence, starting middle part, removal propped portion resulted slip surface. Since moist fails inward rather than outward, reasonable assume lateral compression greater compression, sufficient initiate action condition.
