摘要: Objectives/Hypothesis The World Health Organization endorsed the Xpert MTB/RIF assay for diagnosis of pulmonary tuberculosis (TB), but there is limited information about utility this TB lymphadenitis. Therefore, objective study was to assess diagnostic accuracy in HIV-infected patients with palpable cervical lymph nodes. Study Design Prospective, test study. Methods Consecutive lymphadenopathy were prospectively enrolled between January 2011 and March 2013. Lymph node specimens obtained through fine-needle aspiration or excisional biopsy. Mycobacterial culture considered as gold standard. Results Mycobacterium cultured from 15 68 (22.05%), 53 had negative cultures (77.94%). The sensitivity 100% (95% CI, 74.65%–100%), specificity 91.58%–100%). Smear microscopy a lower performance. Conclusion Although based on sample size, our indicates that useful method lymphadenitis patients, regardless bacillary load smear-positive samples CD4 T cell count. sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value, value similar gold-standard culture.
