摘要: An ethnomedicinal survey conducted amongst folk medicinal practitioners (Kavirajes) of two villages in Narail and Chuadanga districts Bangladesh revealed the use twenty four plant species for treatment diabetes or alleviating diabetic symptoms human patients. Perusal available scientific literature on anti-diabetic showed that out plants used, fifteen have been reported to possess considerable properties directly form ability reduce blood sugar following administration, properties, which can alleviate risk factors diabetes, including anti-oxidant hypolipidemic properties. Overall, it be concluded expertise gained by Kavirajes through longterm practice as well passage accumulated knowledge from generation has practical validity is not based superstitions myths about these plants.
