摘要: This paper is an account of a critical refection on the process data gathering in remote island communities by phone as insider-outsider. The purpose study was to contribute my PhD research question: What factors influence successful contemporary migration Torres Strait Islanders who are moving Australian mainland? To achieve this I had contact Island and evolve that relevant, reliable, appropriate Islander people their communities. Semi-structured surveys where completed with key informants for each community. involved walking beside participants virtual tour, house-by-house, street-by-street. uncovered hidden nuances surround accessing retrieving information. findings useful, relevant transferable advancing methods collecting information areas.
