摘要: The Systolic Hypertension in the Elderly (SHEP) pilot trial was a five-center study which 551 persons aged 60 years or older with isolated systolic hypertension were given antihypertensive drugs placebos order to determine effects on blood pressure control and possible side of therapy. A life events inventory administered cohort one year into study. Results this then compared changes placebo active therapy groups. One more assessed present about 65% population. Although sample too small detect very subtle effects, there no evidence that either individual groups play major role regulation hypertension.
