摘要: A new technique is reported for the rapid growth and detection of methanogenic bacteria by using petri plates. The method employs an anaerobic glove box containing inner chamber with separate gas-flushing facilities. numbers recovered from domestic sewage sludge are comparable to those other methods. organisms isolated include Methanosarcina, Methanospirillum, Methanobacterium strain M.o.H., formicicum. Identification colonies facilitated taking advantage unique fluorescence properties these organisms. Colonies as small 0.5 mm can be detected exposing them long-wave ultraviolet light.
