摘要: This paper investigates whether the innovation in medication technology to orally treat erectile dysfunction (ED) with Sildenafil (commonly known as Viagra) can explain recent rebounds of cases sexually transmitted diseases (STD) and sexual related crimes among elderly population. Preliminary evidence suggests that launch Viagra April 1998 led a historically unprecedented high usage ED drugs generated new social climate where activity is no longer taboo. The contemporaneous changes disease crime statistics may likely be associated this fundamental change medicine public media attention obtained. Alternative hypothesis are investigated, including innovations antiviral AIDS therapy causing behavior.
