摘要: Introduction Kampo is a Japanese traditional medicinal system and represented by unity of mind body. It originally based upon Chinese medicine but has uniquely developed in Japan. Methods A narrative review on the use for psychiatric conditions provided. Results formula combination several crude ingredients; most derive from natural plants some animals minerals. These formulae are widely prescribed almost all medical disciplines, including psychiatry, Japan; they have been used various disorders such as dementia, schizophrenia spectrum disorders, mood anxiety personality disorders. versatile with variety positive effects mental states relatively benign side effect profiles. can be adjunctively combined or substituted Western psychotropic drugs, which will provide more treatment options to patients conditions. Discussion This summarizes current knowledge conditions, highlighting paucity data need further good-quality evidence these medications.
