摘要: Abstract. High methane (CH4) mixing ratios (up to 4 ppm) have occurred sporadically at our measurement site in Haddenham, Cambridgeshire, since July 2012. Isotopic measurements and back trajectories show that the source is Waterbeach Waste Management Park 7 km SE of Haddenham. To investigate this further, were made on 30 June 1 July 2015 other locations nearer source. Landfill emissions been estimated using three different approaches scales; near WindTrax inversion dispersion model, middle distance a Gaussian plume (GP) model landscape scale Numerical Atmospheric Modelling Environment (NAME) Inversion Technique for Emission (InTEM) inversion. The emission estimates derived agree well period intense observations. Applying approach all periods elevated seen Haddenham produces year-round monthly landfill with an annual 11.6 Gg CH4 yr−1. are highest winter (2160 kg h−1 February) lowest summer (620 kg h−1 July). These data identify effects environmental conditions CH4 production highlight importance capture seasonal variability emission.
