摘要: There is a need to develop effective techniques for establishing native vegetation in dryland ecosystems. We developed novel treatment that primes seeds matrix of absorbent materials and bio-stimulants then forms the mixture into pods planting. In development process, we determined optimal conditions priming compared seedling emergence from non-treated seeds, non-primed-seed pods, primed-seed pods. Emergence trials were conducted on soils collected hillslope ridgetop location Kaibab Plateau, Arizona, USA Poa fendleriana Pseudoroegneria spicata used as test species. Seeds primed -0.5 -2.5 MPa up 12 d. under drier (-1.5 MPa) tended have quicker germination. Days 50% was between 66.2 82.4% faster (5.2 14.5 d fewer) than seeds. Seedling P. 3.8-fold higher soil, but no difference found other soil. Final density 2.9 Overall, show promise enhancing germination emergence, which could aid plant establishment.
