摘要: The effects of thermally grafting hydrolysed 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane (APS) onto kenaf-derived cellulose and the influence incorporating them into poly(lactic acid) (PLA) were investigated. Composites containing 30 wt.% (C) silane-grafted (SGC) melt-blended PLA before being hot pressed 0.3-mm films. silane was confirmed via Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) with presence Si-O-Si, Si-O-cellulose, -Si-C-, Si-O-C bonds, –NH2 groups despite post ethanol washing. Using thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), it determined that thermal stability improved by 8 °C after grafting. As for composites, PLA/SGC 12 as compared to PLA/C. From differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), adding C slightly reduced glass transition temperature, Tg, from 59 57 °C, which remained unchanged displayed double melting peaks its melt-recrystallization behaviour. While final temperature at 150 not affected, SGC influenced intensity peaks. significant reduction in crystallisation 113°C 102 105 increase crystallinity almost two fold, indicated an effective nucleating agent.
