摘要: Primary and secondary pleural cancer remains an important clinical problem, with research progress limited by the lack of a suitable moderate- to large-sized (3 4 kg) animal model cancer. Many potential pleura-based imaging treatment modalities cannot be investigated sufficiently using currently available small murine models because their space is not comparable that humans therefore does allow for use standard thoracoscopic techniques. Here we describe development reproducible malignancy in moderate-sized immunocompetent rabbits. Under guidance, 9-15 x 10(6) VX2 carcinoma cells were inoculated into plural 3 kg New Zealand white rabbits had undergone gentle abrasion. Malignant tumor involvement developed on visceral parietal surfaces average 2 wk. This novel induction method likely will facilitate broad range investigations diagnostics therapeutics.
