摘要: Abstract The disposal of animal manures, wastewater and sewage sludge to agricultural land can lead the transfer steroid hormones like 17β-estradiol testosterone into soils, surface groundwaters. objective this study was investigate effects different site histories irrigation application on hormone mineralization sorption in soils. Two sites with long-term treatment were sampled. 14 C-17β-estradiol C-testosterone studied during incubations at 20 °C over three weeks. Despite structural resemblance both rate about an order magnitude lower than that all four reaching 5–7% vs. 50–59%, respectively. Estradiol significantly soils corresponding soil freshwater irrigation. Pre-incubation unlabeled or within a matrix had only minor their mineralization. results indicate estradiol occurs co-metabolically is limited by sorption, whereas appears be utilized directly microorganisms. Sorption sterile unsterile determined batch experiments CaCl 2 solution concentrations 0.13–0.0013 μg mg − 1 . FREUNDLICH isotherms parameters K F log oc values used describe results. for generally 1.2 1.6-fold higher testosterone. SOC-normalized partition coefficients also differ accordingly quite large differences organic matter qualities relating between treatments. When added less sorbed solid phase controls pure water, thus indicating contains soluble sorbents.
