摘要: The aim of this study was to test the feasibility and efficacy a non-invasive molecular method for gender identification parrots, using different types samples Chromo Helicase DNA-binding (CHD) gene as marker. DNA isolated primarily from feathers amplification CHD performed 2550F/2718R primers. In order compare reliability sources DNA, we used buccal swab, blood feces. All sample exerted successful sexing results with exception feces where success rate 25%. Sexing successfully determined in 239 birds belonging 32 species parrots. 6 (Amazona finschi, A. leucocephala, Aratinga aurea, Barnardius zonarius, Coracopsis nigra Nymphicus hollandicus), primers proved work well first time. Species are on IUCN red list threatened species. Furthermore, Amazona Cacatua moluccensis C. sulphurea CITES Apendix I. Since failure reproduction is one main causes illegal trafficking universal tested may be very useful tool preservation endangered parrot
