摘要: Palmar plate fixation of unstable distal radial fractures is quickly becoming the standard treatment for this common injury. The literature reporting complications consists mainly isolated case reports or small series. Between February 2004 and December 2009 palmar was performed in 665 cases. overall complication rate 11.3 % (75 complications). Revision surgery necessary 10 % (65 procedures). reasons revision were: postoperative median nerve compression (22 patients) secondary dislocation (9 patients). An ulna shortening osteotomy ulnar impingement syndrome eight Intraarticular screw placement occurred three patients. There were two flexor pollicis longus, one finger extensor longus tendon ruptures. Posttraumatic compartment forearm requiring fasciotomy four cases infection. Nonoperative nine patients, who developed a complex regional pain syndrome. Hardware failure removal 232 (34 %) radius safe effective procedure. Nevertheless, necessitating second intervention are relatively common. A proportion these iatrogenic can be avoided by improving surgical technique.
