摘要: The shedding of human rhinovirus (HRV) after an acute, naturally acquired infection has not been described in detail. We determined the duration HRV immunocompetent children and adults, patients with primary hypogammaglobulinaemia. Subjects symptoms respiratory tract infection, their household contacts, were screened for by reverse transcription PCR. They followed serial, self-collected nasal swab specimens until negative or infected another type. 62 infections 54 subjects. mean (95% CI) was 11.4 (8.2–14.7) days children, 10.1 (7.4–12.9) 40.9 (26.4–55.4) hypogammaglobulinaemia (p <0.001). correlated virus 0.002). A new type soon first episode common. conclude that times are relatively short otherwise healthy individuals. In contrast, prolonged over 28 is frequent despite immunoglobulin replacement therapy.
