摘要: Critical illness is associated with major abnormalities in metabolism. The “metabolic response to stress” characterized by changes metabolic rate, altered substrate utilization and catabolism, provides a challenge when designing nutritional support regimens. This has increased interest measuring the rate provide better understanding of how, when, what feed critically ill patients. In patients can be determined from measurements oxygen consumption carbon dioxide production. Mechanical ventilation, its elevated concentrations airway pressures abnormal respiratory patterns, presents challenging environment which make these measurements.
