摘要: Helicobacter pylori is causally associated with peptic ulcer disease and gastric carcinoma. Typically children get infected this organism during the first decade of life but diseases, H. pylori, are seen mainly in adults. In India, almost 80% population most them by 10 years age. Hence, it important for a pediatrician to know when suspect infection, how investigate treat it. Extensive electronic (PubMed) literature search was done review (randomized controlled trials, clinical meta-analysis, practice guidelines) related were reviewed. Special emphasis given Indian studies. From we can conclude that infection very common especially low socioeconomic status remain asymptomatic through out their childhood about 15% develop as young adults 1% cancer older There no association, what so ever, recurrent abdominal pain (RAP). Endoscopy preferred method investigation upper digestive symptoms suggestive organic disease. Children (peptic ulcer, primary B-cell lymphoma atrophic gastritis intestinal metaplasia) not mere should be treated triple drug regimen comprising proton pump inhibitor (PPI) two antibiotics weeks.
