摘要: We have demonstrated a sensitive new method of Doppler-free spectroscopy, monitoring the nonlinear interaction two monochromatic laser beams in an absorbing gas via changes light polarization. The signal-to-background ratio can greatly surpass that saturated absorption. Polarization spectra hydrogen Balmer-$\ensuremath{\beta}$ line, recorded with cw dye laser, reveal Stark splitting single fine-structure components Wood discharge.
