摘要: Chemical burns in extremely preterm infants have major implications terms of morbidity and risk management. We report a case extensive chemical burn an low birth weight (ELBW) infant caused by clear, colourless solution 0.5% chlorhexidine 70% alcohol mistaken for normal saline skin cleansing during umbilical catheter insertion. This reflects the on going problem faced many neonatal intensive care units similar coloured solutions with packages, but varying degrees toxic effects.
