摘要: Publisher Summary This chapter discusses the vegetative bacteriophage and maturation of virus particles contribution made by electron microscopy. The direct method studying phage growth involves kinetic experiments counting particles, measuring chemical substances, similar procedures. However, an indirect approach using radiobiological methods has been developed, as in Luria–Latarjet type experiment. After adsorbs onto bacteria, bulk protein remains outside cell. entire DNA is injected along with some minor components protein-like nature amounting to less than 10% total content phage. fact, together other evidence, makes it quite certain that carrier genetic information. extracted from T2 object many physicochemical investigations, which lead assumption up two parts. One fraction, involving a single piece DNA, represents about 40% amount while rest consists several much smaller pieces. Nuclear breakdown, observed only for T-even T5 phages, typical representative early function, and, because ghosts do not produce it, very probably dependent on partial injection phage-head material.
