Slow light based on optical surface modes of two-dimensional photonic crystals

摘要: We investigate slow light properties of optical surface modes sustaining at the interface two-dimensional photonic crystals and uniform medium (air). The manipulation structural parameters governs modal field distribution state. spectral temporal behaviors mode are numerically explored by utilizing both plane-wave expansion finite-difference time-domain methods. show that group index bandwidth can be tuned within a wide range. distortion free pulse propagation is supported presence low velocity dispersion behavior structure.
