Human glutathion S-transferase A1 polymorphism and susceptibility to urothelial cancer in the Japanese population.

摘要: GSTA1 has been reported to be most efficient in detoxifying N-acetoxy PhIP. In this study, 341 Japanese urothelial cancer patients and 457 healthy controls were compared for frequencies of genotype. We present the first evidence an association between GSTA1*B (-567G, -69T, -52A) among never smokers. The frequency *A/*B or *B/*B genotype was 24.3% cases, with 21.2% control groups (OR=1.22; 95%CI 0.87-1.72) after adjustment age, gender smoking status. But smokers, significantly higher cases (31.2%) (19.9%) (OR=1.73; 1.01-2.97). This study suggests that exposure food-derived PhIP could one risk factors incidence
