A multi-detector array for high energy nuclear e(+)e(-) pair spectroscopy

摘要: A multi-detector array has been constructed for the simultaneous measurement of energy and angular correlation electron–positron pairs produced in internal pair conversion (IPC) nuclear transitions up to 18 MeV. The response functions individual detectors have measured with mono-energetic beams electrons. Experimental results obtained 1.6 MeV protons on targets containing 11B 19F show clear IPC over a wide range. comparison GEANT simulations demonstrates that correlations e+e− range between 6 can be determined sufficient resolution efficiency search deviations from due creation subsequent decay into hypothetical short-lived neutral boson.
