摘要: The near-complete pig mtDNA genome sequence (15,997 bp) was determined from two domestic pigs (one Chinese Meishan and one Swedish Landrace) European wild boars. sequences were analyzed together with a previously published representing pig. formed three distinct clades, denoted A, E1, E2, considerable divergence between them (0.8–1.2%). results confirm our previous study (based on the of cytochrome B gene control region only) provide compelling evidence that domestication must have occurred both an Asian subspecies boar. We estimated time since clade A (found in pigs) E1 at about 900,000 years before present, long 9000 ago. pattern nucleotide substitutions among good agreement interspecific comparisons mammalian mtDNA; lowest substitution rates observed nonsynonymous sites protein-coding genes, tRNA rRNA while highest synonymous region. presence some major breeds (Large White most likely reflects documented introgression germplasm into stocks during 18th 19th centuries. coexistence such divergent haplotypes for 100+ generations is expected to lead recombinant if paternal transmission recombination occur low frequency. found no events limited sample studied so far.
