摘要: Millions of acres cropland with as low 6 inches annual precipitation are used for production winter wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) in the Pacific Northwest USA. Despite soil conservation advances, erosion continues to be a problem. This on-farm study analyzed seed-zone water under farmerimplemented fallow tillage practices find out if very low-disturbance systems possible. A low-disturbance, wide-blade undercutter sweep treatment was similar or superior farmer’s more intensive conventional system. subsequent test at four paired no-till-conventionally-tilled summer-fallow sites demonstrated that single pass an no-till field could preserve moisture comparable multiple-pass tillage. wisdom, mulches do not need finely pulverized repeatedly tilled effective.
