MISLEADING RESPONSE OF MALIGNANT GASTRIC ULCERS TO CIMETIDINE

摘要: Abstract Four patients who apparently had benign gastric ulcer (G.U.) were treated with cimetidine. The ulcers healed and their symptoms disappeared. However, when cimetidine was stopped the recurred. Intramucosal cancer found only at histopathological examination of resected stomachs in two four patients, all cases malignancy not been detected by initial serial biopsies brush cytology. Relief malignant may delay diagnosis appropriate treatment.
