摘要: BACKGROUND There is a dearth of research studies regarding the pain-related behavior parents with children suffering from chronic pain. This study examined reactions mothers and fathers, analyzed changes in these following child's inpatient interdisciplinary pain treatment identified predictors for changes. METHOD Using validated questionnaires 40 fathers reported their responses cognitive distortions at commencement, immediately therapy as well follow-up after 6 12 months. RESULTS At commencement there were neither differences between maternal paternal nor towards sons daughters. Immediately both showed increased distracting decreased solicitous behavior. Only change long-term stability. The extent parental catastrophizing this reaction during reduction more thoughts less they changed strong correlated reactions. CONCLUSION Pain-related can be modified by seem to closely related catastrophizing. association should considered when dealing also within framework future projects.
