摘要: Objective Although past literature has emphasized the role of acquired capability in relationship between nonsuicidal self-injury (NSSI) and suicide attempts, support for indirect NSSI to attempts through is limited. Thus, research examining other factors that may underlie this needed. Across two studies, examined relationships frequency both emotion regulation self-efficacy (ERSE). Method Two large samples adults (one nationwide community sample one clinical patients with substance use disorders) completed questionnaires and/or interviews. Results revealed significant lifetime ERSE, but not capability, within samples. Conclusions highlight relevance ERSE NSSI-suicide attempt relationship, suggest potential utility interventions aimed at increasing among individuals repeated NSSI.
