摘要: The increase in the use of fossil fuels from about mid-nineteenth century and their growing unsustainability led to a demand for renewable energy, with its superior features environmental soundness decentralised availability facilitating empowerment individuals communities strengthening self-reliance. Since this can even assume fundamentalist trend, question arises: should goal be sustainable development or energy? Here, position is taken that energy being an instrument. But biomass-based sources are not necessarily always synonymous sustainability. Biomass used non-renewably, non-renewable quasi-renewably specific end-use. Whereas would forbid utilisation resource irrespective equity other advantages, development-oriented view may support (for example, liquified petroleum gas, LPG, cooking) if it dramatically improves quality life during transition period buys time before solely re-newables solution implemented. After indicating interrelationships between biomass (urban rural) development, generic strategies general advance listed. Then, particular mentioned. A brief description barriers supplemented strengths-weaknesses-opportunities-threats (SWOT) analysis. Following discussion some guidelines dissemination technologies (RETs), characteristics policy package (REPP) outlined. Finally, indication given RETs near, medium long term positive implications energies.
