摘要: The San Francisco Bay estuary has been rapidly modified by human activity. Diking and filling of most its wetlands have eliminated habitats for fish waterfowl; the introduction exotic species transformed composition aquatic communities; reduction freshwater inflow more than half changed dynamics plant animal wastes contaminated sediments organisms. Continued disposal toxic wastes, probable further in inflow, possible synergy between two provide potential alteration estuary's water quality biotic communities.
