摘要: The Pine Island Ice Shelf (PIIS) is melting rapidly, which may have a large impact on ice sheet dynamics, sea-level rise, and changes in water mass properties of the surrounding ocean. reason for PIIS relatively warm (~1.2 °C) Circumpolar Deep Water (CDW) that approaches cavity through two submarine glacial troughs located Amundsen Sea continental shelf. Since CDW causes some other glaciers West Antarctica similar way, understanding helps to understand ocean-ice interaction balance Antarctic climate change Southern Ocean. Thus, my PhD study, we investigate intrusion onto shelf by (a) analyzing hydrographic data obtained during ANTXXVI/3 2010 (b) using Finite Element ice-Ocean Model (FESOM). We focus intruding demonstrate difficulties modeling further show choice forcing not reproducing intrusions.
