摘要: Abstract A biopolymer has been shown to facilitate efficient delivery of trehalose, a bioprotectant normally impermeable the phospholipid bilayer, into ovine erythrocytes. Cellular uptake trehalose was found be dependent on polymer pendant amino acid type and degree grafting, concentration, pH, external incubation temperature time. Optimization these parameters yielded an intracellular concentration 123 ± 16 m m concomitant improvement erythrocyte cryosurvival up 20.4 ± 5.6%. Intracellular impart cellular osmoprotection osmolarity 230 mOsm increased osmotic sensitivity above this threshold. Biopolymer mediated membrane permeability rapidly completely reversible via washing with phosphate buffered saline.
