摘要: Magnesium alloys have the potential to reduce mass of transportation systems however fully realize benefits it must be usable in more applications including those that require higher strength and ductility. It has been known fine grain size Mg leads high However, challenge is how achieve this optimal microstructure a cost effective way. This work shown by using optimized shear deformation second phase particles Mg2Si MgxZnZry energy absorption extrusions can exceed AA6061. The extrusion process under development described presentation appears scalable effective. In addition novel modeling approach understand roles strain state-of-strain on particle fracture control developed.
