摘要: 1. We have made quantitative assessments of the sensory reinnervation and recovery peroneus brevis muscle spindles following section epineurial repair common peroneal nerve. After 6-50 weeks recovery, single-unit, dorsal-root recordings were responses to ramp-and-hold or sinusoidal stretch reinnervated spindles, which subsequently examined in teased, silver preparations. 2. Assessments used data obtained from cross-union experiments foreign afferents (including Ib) given opportunity reinnervating absence their native (Ia, spindle II) afferents; an examination tenuissimus by Ia II Ib afferents. These studies revealed: (i) that regenerating can terminate sites originally occupied endings afferents, respond like normal (ii) are histologically identical apart diameter range; (iii) some cutaneous reinnervate give highly abnormal, phasic responses. 3. Recovery was marked increases conduction velocity proportions firing tonically, but rates at three phases considerably lower than showed no tendency increase. 4. Some relatively fast gave II-type identified as secondary-ending sites; conversely, slow Ia-type primary-ending sites. 5. The estimated loss after nerve (52% Ia, 49% less these (79% 86% II). proportion free-ending also much (22%) (73%). differences partly attributed greater size degree afferent complexity 6. Similar both partial (27% 20% complete (21% nerve.(ABSTRACT TRUNCATED AT 400 WORDS)
