Carcinoma base of tongue: single institution 15 year experiences.

摘要: AIMS: To report the outcome with radiotherapy and concomitant chemoradiotherapy in patients locally advanced squamous cell carcinoma base of tongue treated followed up at single institution over a period 15 years. MATERIALS AND METHODS: This study was carried out by auditing medical records 103 our between 1991 2006. Mean age standard deviation Radiotherapy only (group I) II) 55.26 ± 14.16 49.81 12.16 46 were alone 57 concurrent chemo using infusion cisplatinum 3 weekly 5 fluorouracil twice weekly. follow 13.35 months. All characteristic treatment characteristics recorded. RESULTS: There 81 men 22 women study. Group I contains 31 cases stage III IV tumors while group II 19 38 respectively. has shown improved loco regional control rate for T3 T4 as compared to I. Disease free survival overall is 25.51 months 22.53 8.67 6.74 Grade mucosal toxicity incidence higher CONCLUSIONS: In infusional results disease modality. better tumor response comes cost toxicity.
