摘要: In rural lowland catchments, negligible topographic gradients and possible interactions between overland channel flows complicate efforts to predict flood formation, propagation, inundation. this study, we demonstrate that an approach in which a two-dimensional shallow water model is coupled with for the saturated flow topsoil layer can accurately reproduce floods such catchment. The porous treated as confined aquifer where ponds on ground surface unconfined elsewhere. includes infiltration from into downward percolation out of layer. equations both subsurface models are suitably averaged over representative elementary area yield subgrid surface-subsurface flow. Field data collected two catchments North-East Italy used evaluate performance. good agreement computed measured discharge at catchments' outlet predicted surveyed spatial pattern inundated areas indicate effectively reproduces efficiently accounts interaction relevant processes.
