摘要: Abstract This study investigates α 2 -adrenergic receptor (α AR) mediated feedback inhibition of catecholamine release from the adrenal medulla adult (52 weeks) and old (98 spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHR) normotensive controls Wistar Kyoto (WKY) rats. Adrenal epinephrine content as well spontaneous nicotinic-evoked were similar between SHR WKY Aging produced a significant reduction in synthesis In contrast, aging increase without changes synthesis. The AR agonist medetomidine abolished (80–90% inhibition) With aging, this effect was unaltered but significantly decreased (30% inhibition). 2A mRNA levels reduced compared with age matched conclusion, is preserved compromised SHR, resulting increased release.
