Aqueous polymerization of acrylic acid initiated by KMnO4 — H2C2O4 redox system

摘要: Polymerization of acrylic acid in aqueous solution initiated by permanganate-oxalic redox pair has been studied at 32 ± 0.2°C nitrogen atmosphere. The rate polymerization found to be nearly independent oxalic concentration within the range 1.87 9.33 · 10−3 mole/l. and decreases only higher concentrations acid. also vary with first power monomer (within 1.44 5.76 10−2 mole/l.) catalyst (8.0 28.0 10−5 Mole/l.). It is, however, proportional half relatively high concentration, fixed (1.03 (5.76 mole/l.). At exponent unity for both lower catalyst. initial increases increase temperature. overall energy activation 19.56 kcal/mole temperature 30 – 45°C. Organic solvents salts (KCI, Na2SO4, Na2C2O4) depress but MnSO4 4H2O maximum conversion.
